May 7, 2008

Hep B PanelThe "1 in 10: Hepatitis B and the Chinese/API Community" event at the Imperial Palace Restaurant on Sunday, May 4th was a great success!

Over 450 people came to listen to a panel discussion on awareness and prevention of Hep B. More than 175 individuals received HBV screenings that day and even more got a chance to talk to our community partners in attendance. If you weren't able to attend, there will be another opportunity for more information and free screening coming on May 17th at the Asian Heritage Street Festival.

A special thanks to the California Pacific Medical Center Foundation, program partner SF HepB Free, and all those that volunteered their time on Sunday, without whom this event could not have happened. We appreciate and wanted to thank individually the program moderator, Ted Fang, and the panel members, Dr. Albert Yu and Dr. Robert Gish.

Look here for more events about Hep B in the future. You can also go go to www.sfhepbfree.org to find more screenings near you.
