How many hospital dollars does it take to change a light bulb?
In last week’s survey only 8% of San Franciscans knew it costs $650,000 to replace three operating room lights.
Why was it so expensive? Since even the simplest piece of equipment in a hospital operating room can have life or death implications for patients, it must undergo the tightest scrutiny, the most meticulous construction and constant re-examination to make sure it is as safe as possible.
